VSAT (Installation and Maintenance):
AFSAT sets up Satellite based data and voice communication networks for single organisations, which are called Virtual Private Networks (VPN) as well as networks of VSAT stations to provide interconnection for their voice (for closed user group), data and video exchanges for organisations.

These are generally known as the Integrated Satellite Business Networks (ISBN). AFSAT Communications Ltd has introduced the use of an Integrated Satellite Business Network (ISBN) supplied by Hughes Network Systems (HNS), who it represents in the region, to link user remote locations with regional and head offices in Africa.

The ISBN is a total bypass solution that uses a Personal Earth Station (PES) or TES terminal at each remote location to communicate with a central hub earth station. The PES is a flexible communications platform, capable of simultaneously and efficiently supporting diverse requirements.
